An interesting dynamic, no? I had not considered that.
It is one of the myriad of reasons I am dead set against sending hundreds of billions of dollars to Ukraine to prop up a corrupt regime where there is zero strategic interest...
It is my observation that many of these people who support Ukraine and have the signs and flags outside their homes, are the same people who have the Black Lives Matter, "In this house we believe" and "Resist" signs on their front lawns.
Same people. Apart from the fiscal, strategic, and ideologic non-concerns for the welfare of Ukraine, I will not find common ground with those people on this issue.
And yes. We still have plenty of those distasteful people around here. I don't trust a single one of them. One of them, who constantly posts barrages of this Ukrainian propaganda insists she is an American. She thinks she is, if she is any more than a paid stooge of a bot (because that is all she ever posts. Ever.) but she isn't.

And by all appearances, Fauci is bound and determined to continue getting his kickbacks from the likes of Moderna, Pfizer, etc. by STILL insisting that vaccination is mandatory.
If I had a say in it, not only would there be an orange jump suit and manacles, it would also involve a cage his head would go into like the ones into which he had the heads of beagles inserted into, with a large assortment of biting insects giving them free and unfettered access to a warm meal.
The removal of the vocal cords, like he did to annoying beagles, would be a happy side effect.

Great point about the role of the pharmaceutical/medical industrial complex’s role in this. But Next time this power grab happens we must remember that it could be anyone of a number of XYZ industrial complexes who pay politicians to do their bidding.

My update - my company put in place a vaccine mandate with a “drop dead” date after which everyone unvaccinated or without an approved exemption would be considered voluntarily resigned. And they made the exemption process nearly impossible.
In a moment of unusual candidness some senior managers said they only expected a couple dozen folks to request exemptions (out of a company with 30k+ employees) and were shocked to get over five thousand.
So they hired a third party company to process (deny) all the exemptions and postponed the deadline. They told us we would hear from this third party some time in the next few weeks. After a few weeks they postponed the deadline again, and admitted it would be a few more weeks before the third party would contact us.
Then, out of the blue, they just blanket-granted all the exemptions. I think they weren’t processing the request, but were analyzing who they would lose if the fired all the requesters and realized that it was mostly the smart people that got things done.
Meanwhile, we are all still mostly working from home. And they have updated the employee handbook to remove the requirement.
As for the positive, my family discovered we liked hiking in the woods, and have been slowly discovering our state. And we are finally starting to be able to hike for an hour or two and not come across someone wearing a mask - although the number still wearing them in the woods is stunning.

Fauci said they have been working on the vaccine technology for 20 years. Looks like it is back to the drawing board...
I'm fairly high up the food chain at my company so I knew first hand that the "C" level execs never had their hearts in mandating vaccines for employees. They wanted no part of it.
However, their hands were forced to comply with the mandate, especially as we are a government contractor and stook to lose a lot of federal business as a result of not complying.
We had the same "drop dead" dates bandied about and probably a similar exemption process as well. My company also went to a third party, probably due in large part they did not want to dirty their hands with this garbage. Once they went third party, the exemption requests sailed through (as approved) in short order, including my own.
There were a lot of co-workers besides myself that got the exemption (on religious grounds). Almost all of them top performers in the company. I'm pretty sure nobody at the higher levels wanted all those people to leave at once.
Honestly, I expected a little more scrutiny on my exemption request. I'm no holy roller by any means but have been a lifelong Christian, so my request was submitted in earnest. I was fully expecting a phone call to challenge some of the beliefs I stated in my letter but that never happened. It just got rubber stamped and sent back to me approved. I called my other co-workers and they all got theirs as well, on the same day.
Then the whole matter got dropped like a hot potato. Starting about a year ago, vaccines never got mentioned again in any company memos. There is still a technical requirement for new hires to upload their vax status or exemption request but that's it. Nobody in the hallways asks anymore about it and nobody wears masks either.
It's like the whole thing never happened. Except we still have those stupid arrow signs on the floors in the corridors that nobody ever followed in the first place. They are glued to the floor and don't peel off very easily.
At other points in my life, I might have not given a post like that as much credence as I now do.
