“Can’t they get out of that venue?”

The trial has to happen in the district where the supposed crime occurred, so they’re pretty much stuck in DC.

The upside is that DC is federal jurisdiction, so if we ever get another Republican president, he can pardon all of them with the stroke of a pen.

You can move for a change of venue on grounds of prejudice, pretrial publicity, conflict of interest, etc.

It is true that venue lies in the jurisdiction of the crime, all other things being equal.

They aren't, here.
