He's 80, so he graduated roughly 62 years ago or 1961. I am eight years younger than him. It was something you NEVER heard about at all.

The famous "Stonewall Riots" in NYC happened in 1969.

When we finally DID start hearing about it, it was the queers saying "Just keep the government out of our bedroom. We just want to be left alone in the privacy of our bedrooms." (which is a good right-wing perspective, after all)
