I wonder what their targets were.
Hypersonic missiles are difficult to shoot down, so these missiles should be used against high priority targets.
Read some interesting stuff on strategic bombing of Germany during WW2.
The gist was it often to dozens of return trips to the same targets to actually degrade whatever they were bombing
I understand smart weapons make hitting targets much easier than the wildly inaccurate bombing of ww2, but it seems that Russia is using awfully expensive and fairly rare munitions on targets that are relatively quick to rebuild. I would imagine far quicker than those missiles can be replaced
Is it stupidly , desperation or am I missing some big piece here
“6 Kinzhal missiles were fired across Ukraine...”
“I wonder what their targets were?”
The only targets that I have heard discussed were civilian infrastructure targets, but that is anecdotal. I have not seen reporting on the complete target set, or which specific targets the hypersonics were fired against.
In addition to the six Kh-47 Kinzhals, there were reported (by Ukrainian MoD) another six Kh-22 as well.
Hopefully, they are using them just out of desperation to achieve some effect on their now usual target set of civilian electrical supply, water, heat, hospitals, schools and nursing mothers; rather than some actual genius new military strategy.
Maybe Marcus has seen something about the targets for the hypersonics in this latest wave of missiles.
