I find Matt Schlapp to be a snake oil salesman.

I thought their website showed they were sold out.

Watched a lot of the speeches yesterday and reallyliked them.

However, it is true it was poorly attended for whatever reason. Why bash someone speaking the truth? Would you rather they look dumb by saying it was the most attended in history? Look how that turned out for trump in his inauguration when he lied about numbers. That was the main focus of his first six months of his presidency talking about insignificant numbers of inauguration attendance.

Jennifer Oliver O’Connell needs to learn how to write. What is “Schlapp”? Is it a person with a first name or a beer?
News flash: Fox news is powerless.
If CPAC wants to grow, then CPAC should invite Russell Brand, Scott Adams and Steve Crowder. Duh!

CPAC’s insistence on continually aligning to the model that props up and promotes D.C. only marginalizes the grassroots conservative activists, and everyday citizens across the U.S. who are making a difference in their local communities, and thereby nationally.

This tells me CPAC has lost it's way and has been infiltrated by the establishment.

Ticket prices for plebes are way too high.

Not sure what happens there is different/unique from other venues.

I thought their website showed they were sold out.

I don't know if they were sold out or not but I do know that there's a bunch of images on social media showing huge numbers of empty seats even while Trump was speaking.

Wasn’t this where Trump spoke? I was in the kitchen but could hear trump speaking and the crowd was going wild- i thought it was another rally- but i was CPAC i thought?

Yahoo news tried to claim the attendees had to be ‘encouraged to cheer’- which was a lie- the audience was cheering 1/2 way through some of the thigns Trump was mentioning, proving more or less that they weren’t being prompted

I imagine any event in one of America’s blue, sh&thole cities would suffer in attendance.

#nobrainer

That may be part of the problem. More analytically though, CPAC now suffers competition from other conservative organizations and gatherings, from generational change, and from a relative lack of genuinely useful training at CPAC to attract people new to conservative politics. One gets the sense that, like a well that is being over-pumped, a financially successful event is being repeated to exhaustion instead of being adapted to changing circumstances.

ok.

he’s never funded, to my knowledge, supported or given a platform to any of the local, grass roots, GOP candidates, i’ve funded independently from 2008 onward. to my knowledge, he hasn’t been a counter weight to Soros at the SOS/AG level for example.

i fund independently, directly to candidates or groups i support, so i stay way from PACs in general.

he’s given a platform to many GOPe candidates and groups i’ve never supported. Like the log cabin republicans, for example.
