KEEPER!! Thanks!
Agree, and thanks for the ping.
James is a good man. Without his probing investigations, we would never know the extent of the evil of Planned Parenthood, and more recently, of Pfizer
He is a Muckraker for All Seasons.
Thanks for the ping
Thank ye, matey. Yaarrrrrr......
Thanks for the ping Albion. I’ve never been in a position to be a whistleblower. But I would if I could.
They may not have had to pay a cent. All it may have needed was phone call to the top levels of the FBI, and they may be the ones who got on the Board's backs.
There have probably been multiple discussions all over the Deep State of how to neutralize him, just as they have tried to do to Trump. Hence multiple pathways, or a gang-up.
I miss America, where honesty was the best policy, determination and hard work would eventually bring rewards, privileges required individual responsibilities, it was a sin to tell a lie, families were the building blocks of civilization, the FBI were crimefighters, cops were friends of law-abiding citizens and protectors of civic peace, judges tried to be impartial and decide within existing law, elections determined the will of the People, immigrants were admitted by their ability to contribute to society, Federal agencies were not supposed to engage in politics, and it all relied heavily on the Honor System—if you broke it, you went to jail. It wasn't always perfect; but it was better than now.
You're very welcome, dear upchuck!
I had one incident years ago when my team and I were working as contractors in a big corporation. I learned of an ethical breach by an inside employee and didn't reveal it to my client, because it would have harmed the life of the one vulnerable person who brought it to my attention. Due to our unique work process, there didn't appear to be any way to blow the whistle without it being obvious who had "heard the confession"; nor did I believe it was a matter of life or death. But it has bothered me from time to time these many years. I wonder if I would choose differently today, knowing what we know now.
I found myself in similar situations back in my working days. I acted as whistleblower once when my knowledge led to better working conditions for the team.
But I still feel a twinge of guilt.
You have to call ’em as you see ’em at the time. Glad you were able to help your team!
with numerous freepers having published books or recommending books, is there a thread about books (like there is about gardening, etc.)? If there is, place me on the ping list.
Reaganmail likely controlled by the Bush’s
I don't know of one. Probably due to the wide range of interests represented on FR, people just seem to recommend books within those interest threads. But why not start one that meets your interests and see what happens?
There are several like this one.
There’s a multiple-address list at comment 16 by GreyFriar.
This thread is from 2015 but I know there have been many recent ones.
The names of the people who responded could also be formed into a working list.
Good advice to Jane Austen, dear firebrand! I remember those threads.
Thanks
You’re very welcome!
