I try to keep an open mind but the “board” statement today in response to James’ letter yesterday to employees was a bit weak. While every board should be concerned about accounting and/or keeping tabs on money spent, there are much better ways to accomplish this than the idiocy we just witnessed.
Why not call James and express concern about spending on items that might appear to donors as being frivolous or wasteful OR set up a process where the board reviews such expenditures?
This was clearly motivated by something else. You don’t destroy a 22 million dollar plus organization over “rental car fees” when your CEO and primary fundraiser is on the road for 300 days out of the year. Corporate travel is expensive 1st, 2nd, or 3rd class.
If Matt was part of this $hit show he is an idiot. Maybe they had valid concerns about a few things, but this is not how a normal “board” addresses such matters. This was a coup attempt and it occurred immediately after your most successful month in the 10 year plus history of a company when you whacked one of the biggest spending companies in history?
My belief is clear...... some people got some money from Pfizer. It will take a lot for me to believe differently at this point.
Maybe Matthew got his 20 pieces of silver from Pfizer!
