Note that this video is not from some Right-Wing Blogger who’s opposed to sending all our weapons to Ukraine, just to be destroyed by Russia, but instead is from the Hindustan Times, which has over 5 million subscribers.

What’s the collective military budget of the USA + NATO?

We know the USA is by far the largest, and many people have complained for years how EU/NATO countries can spend more than the 2% of GDP they do.

Regardless - a quick google search indicates EU+USA altogether is >$1.1 TRILLION.

Meanwhile, we are told Russia’s defense budget in 2021 was $69 billion.

And yet they are, supposedly, out-producing the West in basic armaments.

So let me offer two quick observations:

- We are being lied vastly about strategic politics (imagine that?)
- Our defense systems are hugely bloated and corrupt. They are, in large part, grift schemes and political power bases

The West knows this, the EU military is weak, very weak in arms and men. Years of social programs destroyed their military- the Brits have admitted they can not even field a Division, after witnessing Russia’s manufacturing and seemingly endless war stocks has them very ill prepared, virtually no artillery as they choosed wrongly in believing air power could fill the gap. Fact is Vlad within days can take out all of the EU’s airfields.

Russian MOD has stated they started building up in 2015, for a planned 30 month long full intensity war with NATO. NATO is spent within three days of fighting in the manner they are witnessing. We have virtually nothing prepositioned in the EU, and dismantled all our bases over the years.

NATO is a hollowed out entity, having to rely 100 percent on the US, and everyone knows it. Much of the Ukies welfare donated arms don’t even make to their Eastern front from Poland, imagine getting an armored division 6,000 miles to the Eastern front in a full intensity war- our worn out C17’s are all getting overhauled due to high time airframe hours due to years of use In Afghanistan and Iraq…and should they be airlifted, very few airfields will be found operational …

Vlad holds all the cards, this war ends on his terms.

Like everything else in our gov’t....overspend and get little in return so political cronies can make massive profits that get funneled back to the political class.

...I read just the other day on another web site about the billions and billions of tax dollars that are flat-out WASTED by our military establishment; it almost makes one cry...the Pentagon failed yet another audit if I recall...cannot account for billions in military gear and assets, yet they still want more and more and more tax dollars...yes, our defense [sic] establishment is bloated and corrupt...

This is one of the incoherent arguments of the pro putinists.

1. They assert that Nato is/was weak and unprepared for war;

2. They say that Putin was so threatened by Nato that he was forced to invade Ukraine.

1 & 2 are incompatible positions.

Who were those weapons manufacturer to fight against?

And if Russia is not a threat to Europe, why would NATO need huge stockpiles?

RE the US in NATO:
When I became old enough, in the late-Carter administration, to really pay attention the the political & ecomomic situation, both here in the USA and in Europe, it became clear that NATO was largely a political & ecomomic millstone around the neck of the US. The US was expected to provide the cash and weapons and also do the fighting for NATO, while Europe funded their socialist programs.

It remains the same today.

“NATO’s hollowed-out militaries”

A military force that is filled with homosexuals and trannies will hollow out very quickly. Sodomy has the affect of hollowing out many openings.

The same is happening to the USA military. When the next world war starts, it will end with soldiers killing their commanders. The cockroaches at the top will be the first to be taken out.

You thought that during the Reagan years?

My #1 reason to vote for Trump was his idea of leaving NATO.

The globalists are trying to bottle up Russia so they will fall in step with the deluded West.

Russia’s cause is just and quarrel honorable.

More like theyu want to carve Russia up into fifteen or twenty little fiefdoms that they can manipulate and control in perpetuity.

“Here was a manifestation of a huge, historic British folly, repeated over many centuries including the twenty-first: the adoption of gesture strategy, committing small forces as an earnest of good intentions, heedless of their gross inadequacy for the military purpose at hand.”

“And if Russia is not a threat to Europe, why would NATO need huge stockpiles?”

Since they OBVIOUSLY didn’t take their military situation seriously, why did they need to pick a fight with Russia?

Certainly. I remember an article from 20 years ago or so, where Belgium was proud they could field some military unit, like a brigade. But they weren’t allowed ammunition for their weapons.

When it comes to the responsibility of funding a defence for the security of Europe and having the resolve to utilize it if necessary, the socialist nations largely field pretend forces. They know the USA will come accross the ocean for them so they maintain paper tigers.

What does that have to do with the Reagan years and NATO’s readiness then?

Personally, I found them well prepared and capable during the period when you say you first became old enough to start paying attention to us.
