The question is there an increase in the number actually or an increase in the reports. Thus far there is no increase in incidence.

No increase in incidents of athletes dying suddenly? You're really going to make that statement despite the increasing number who are dying like this goalie did at 25?

I mean as kids we all learned "Take Me Out To The Ball Game":

Take me out to the ball game
Take me out with the crowd
Buy me some peanuts and crackerjack
We'll see how many players have heart attacks

Yes. The incidence of sudden cardiac death in athletes is well known. There are several processes that cause this. According to all studies in the literature there is no increase so far in the incidence. While the breathless one off reporting makes it feel like it is happening because people are combing the obits to find the story that fits their narrative at this point there is no actual reported increase in the frequency of death related to cardiac events in athletes.

Lots of extrapolations and assumptions that the data are not showing. If we keep things data driven we can discern the truths. Otherwise it is hysteria at its finest.
