Onlookers swarmed social media with videos of the Chinese spy balloon being “taken out” over the waters in South Carolina Saturday.

Russian researchers attached GPS trackers to migrating eagles.
The collars feedback their coordinates via SMS message as the eagles migrate. The team used the satellite images to see if the birds reached a safe location.
The study is useful in identifying behaviour patterns. Power lines are a particular threat to the birds, which are endangered in Russia and Central Asia.
During the summer in Kazakhstan, one unit accumulated a number of SMS messages over a period of four months that had failed to send as they were out of range. When the eagle flew unexpectedly to Iran, the backlog of messages were sent all at once triggering expensive roaming charges.
The resulting bill used up the entire tracking budget meant for all the eagles.
It seems that the US is more concerned in shooting down the balloon than its recovery. Easier to hide any compromising evidence.

It could have been taken down over US waters off the coast of Hawaii as it crossed the pacific. Or was it perhaps launched by a Chinese warship near US West coast?
I read about aces who attacked German Zeppelins over Britain. Apparently there observations balloons, that used hydrogen, and were vulnerable to incendiaries, once they were introduced. However, it was still dangerous, because of the risk of ground fire.
I have the feeling that they took a little while, or not?
Maybe it was just a dummy or training missile. No detonation, no flames. Could have been just a quick burst of machine gun fire.
Most likely. Who controlled the balloon as it drifted over the US? Beijing or one of the many spies in our country?

The payload then detached from bslloon and descended at a much higher rate than the balloon skin did.
That was the fighter that shot the missile, or did you not see the small trail earlier?
