I remember before the war started and people were posting how bad A Russia’s Spetsnaz was. They are mostly dead now.

••Day 333.

Apart from new developments in the Zaporizhzhia region, a number of very important events took place in the Kherson region.

Here, the Russians once again leveraged their positions on the islands to engage their artillery from a very short distance and quickly hide, however, today, the deployed Russian artillery units were caught red-handed and successfully destroyed.

As you remember, in the aftermath of the retreat from the western bank of the Dnipro River, the Russians retained control over most islands.

One of the most problematic islands for the Ukrainians turned out to be the island Velykyi Potiomkin. The reason why it caused a lot of trouble for the Ukrainians is twofold.

Firstly, this is probably the most populated island on the Dnipro River’s delta, excluding the island within Kherson Citi’s administrative borders.

Even though it looks empty, the outer part of the island has thousands of houses, so the area where the Russians can hide and establish their positions is really vast.

Secondly, this island is extremely close to many Ukrainian positions, including Kherson. The island part of Kherson is only 1.5 km away from the Russians.

Other villages, such as Bilozerka, Dniprovske, and Berehove, are around 3-6 km away from the island, and all these settlements are constantly suffering from shelling, especially Kherson, where residential buildings become the target almost every day.

Forcing the river to assault and push the Russians out of it was extremely risky and difficult, so the Ukrainians decided to establish tight sniper and artillery control.

Over the last month, the Ukrainians were able to collect all the necessary information to simplify their counterbattery actions: they identified approximate time windows that the Russians usually used and rough coordinates of their positions.

Today, when the Russian artillery unit was conducting yet another fire mission, the Ukrainians timely spotted the unit, adjusted the coordinates and transferred them to the artillery units that were waiting for the possible immediate need for counteraction, and fired at the Russians.

Since the artillery duels took place between short-range artillery systems that are all located a maximum of 6 km from one another, it is almost impossible to timely reposition if your enemy has been waiting for you, which is why the Russian artillery unit operating in this region was destroyed.

The locals also reported explosions in Oleshky. The Russians are using this town as one of their main pre-frontal bases, so the Ukrainians likely targeted the area of Russian forces concentrations.

In the meantime, the Ukrainian General Staff reported that in the aftermath of their precision strikes that happened over the last two days, the Ukrainians fixed the arrival of dozens of trucks at the hospital in Nova Kahovka with wounded personnel.

Finally, when it comes to the Zaporizhzhia region, more details became available about Russian plans.

When it comes to the villages to the west of Orikhiv, as you remember, the Russians established control over the grey zone area and attempted to attack Stepove. Unfortunately for the Russians, the attack seems to have failed.

If we look at the topographic map, we can see that they were not only crossing the fields, but also attacking uphill, which is extremely difficult. A similar situation happened near Scherbaky. Today the Russians adjusted their plans and assaulted Kamianske, which is located in the lowlands.

The fights here are very tough, as the Russians are fixing Ukrainian troops by firing at them from the opposite side of the bay while another group is storming their flanks.

When it comes to the area to the east of Orikhiv, here the setting is completely different. Unlike in the western area, where the Ukrainians have small fortifications on the hills, here, the Ukrainians have big fortifications in the lowlands.

Because these fortifications are well-developed, the first wave of attacks has been repelled, but because these positions are in the lowlands, it is much easier for the Russians to continue storming them. That is why I expect the clashes here to continue.

Overall, the Russians failed to achieve any progress by assaulting Ukrainian positions in front of Orikhiv because here, the Ukrainians have a lot of tactically advantageous positions.

That is why the Russians are expected to shift their focus to the outskirts, where they can move along the valleys.

200,000 dead and maimed mostly young Russians and Ukrainians should not make anyone happy unless you are a globalist and want these two countries transformed into pliable cogs of the new world order. Notice how the organizations that usually scream for negotiations and peace such as the UN, the Vatican and the potpourri of never shy NGOs have remained very silent.

hey haven’t a clue what losses either side has....what we do know is Russia still has the land and is pushing forward......even if Russia were to retreat after completing what thy wantd to and go back to Russia, Ukraine can’t claim a win - their country is shattered and destroyed....and Putin will keep frozen conflicts going to protect the landbridge he’s created.

Who trained you to post to yourself as a way to generate fake interest in your propaganda?

Your high heel boy Z is having another tough day as uke lines around bakmut may be collapsing!
Ukes evacuated the Kaleeshka area and a town that sounds like Nabisco was captured toward Chssiv Yar where the last remaining supply road exists (and the ukes most likely escape route is closing in). Rus are advancing toward Siversk and captured kosnapolifka.Ukes stretched thin so reinforcing the Zaporiza line will be difficult.

Update on Russian-Ukrainian conflict for January 23, 2023

- Russian forces are reportedly advancing in Zaporozhye while Ukraine continues losing ground around Bakhmut;

- Russian pushes in Zaporozhye could be (1) recon in force, (2) extending existing security zone ahead of actual Russian front line or (3) spoiling attacks on forces assembling for a future offensive;

- Ukrainian losses are severe and Reuters is reporting on supposed warnings by the US to Ukraine about going on the offensive; - Weapon shipments have been announced for Ukraine including a significant US DoD package, as well as all of Denmark’s Caesar self-propelled howitzers and all of Estonia’s FH-70 towed howitzers;

The 5th of February is looming, and with it, a new ban on the import of refined petroleum products into the EU, as well as a price cap on those products to other customers.

The similar 5 Dec ban and cap on seaborne crude, reduced Russia’s daily gross revenue on crude from around $300 Miilion to around $200 Million - around 1/3.

The logistics of refined product sales are more challenging, because it requires many more ships, for smaller quantities of many types of refined products. Other major customers like India and China have shown little interest in refined products from Russia, as it is cheaper for them to refine their own. More than half of Russia’s refined products still go to the EU.

Bottom line: February 5th sanctions seem likely to take a bigger slice from a smaller pie - around half of what is now a daily gross revenue around $100 Million.
