I’m in my 40s and would gladly opt out of the program if I wasn’t taxed and they lifted some of the limitations of tax free deposits to my investment accounts. I think they should expand options to allow anyone who can afford to get out to get out.

Hold on there, whipperstapper. Unfortunately, that whole “opt out” thing isn’t going to work for us old people because you’re paying OUR social security.
