PJ, I am not disagreeing with you. I think perhaps you missed a couple of lines.

My thesis is that there are all these good, legitimate reasons to throw out, Joe Biden, but they aren’t going to happen, primarily because they would reflect so badly on Democrats. My thesis is, therefore that they settled on the document miss handling issue, because they believed that it would not reflect badly as Democrats, that it was their only way of getting rid of him without severe collateral damage across their party.

And then, in my final summation, I point out that the cadre who dreamed this up, did not anticipate how the documents would all reveal proof of the Biden family’s more severe crimes.

So yes, you and I are essentially in agreement. :-)

I agree, too.

I posted earlier that:

I've come to the conclusion that Biden's lawyers did the calculus and concluded that it was better for Biden to take the wrap on mishandling (and possibly destroying) classified documents than what would happen if the contents of those documents were revealed.
There are no good outcomes for Democrats here. Their best play is one that takes down Biden and damages President Trump as collateral damage. Trump is their White Whale and they would rather they both go down together than to let Trump politically live for another term.

That means that the Democrats are willing to:

  1. Let Harris become President, even if that tarnishes the image of "successful" women in business and politics.
  2. Totally corrupt the idea of Natural Born Citizens.
  3. Even the score on which party has Presidents who resigned from office.
  4. Gloss over how the first President who got 80 million votes was removed from office two years later.
  5. Open up 2024 for a Republican victory in the White House.
The question is whether or how they will parlay taking Biden out with taking President Trump out, too. They will have to reconcile the following:

  1. Mar-a-Lago was a secure facility that was previously inspected by the FBI and had Secret Service patrolling the grounds, Biden's properties had no security and was paid for by Chinese agents.
  2. President Trump had authority to declassify and take documents, Biden did not.
  3. The documents at Mar-a-Lago were alleged to be classified secrets but no mention of them has been made after they were taken, leading people to believe Trump's assertion that they were personal mementos. The nature of Biden's documents have not been disclosed and Biden has denied knowledge of them.
  4. The raid on Mar-a-Lago was timed to support the J6 committee final report before the mid-term elections, which ended up with nothing. Biden's document possession was covered up until two months after the mid-term elections.
  5. Call Merrick Garland's hand on prosecuting President Trump and condemning the Democrat party, or forcing Harris to fire Garland as she fashions her own Cabinet to start fresh and clears out Biden's dead wood.
It might turn out that removing Biden and installing Harris is the best thing that ever happened to Republicans. Harris can join the ranks of "do-nothing" Presidents who can't get anything passed the House. Republicans can stymie the Democrats until 2024, making Harris a shrill and babbling face of her party, and then parlay this into a Trump win in 2024 and a DeSantis win in 2028.
