This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it is not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

"That is a well known advantage that the Ukrainians have over the Russian invaders."

In a civil war both sides consider the territory being fought over as theirs. That is one of the reason the the American Civil War has 650,000 dead out of a population of 30 million. If the Civil War was fought today with the same proportion of casualties you would have 7.2 million dead out of 330 million.

Getting involved in a Slavic civil war is the height of stupidity.

“You are just validating Russia’s concerns about NATO’s ever eastward expansion.”

NATO expansion is non-negotiable.

The leaders of the remaining rump state that was Russia can cry about it to their new Chinese overlords.

“Did you guys know that NorseViking is a retired senior officer with 21 years of service?”

Not surprised. Another member of the RuZZian military braintrust.

Early on in the war, NorseViking said, ‘does anyone really believe RuZZia doesn’t have air supremacy’.

11 months later, the RuZZian air force still only flies over occupied territory.

WaPo reports:

“Russia ended 2022 with a deficit of 3.3 trillion rubles, or $47.3 billion, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov announced Tuesday — one of the worst financial years in the country’s history, as Russia’s economy bore the brunt of the high costs of its war in Ukraine and the pain of Western economic sanctions.

The $47.3 billion deficit contrasted sharply with a budget surplus of $6.7 billion in 2021. The only year Russia experienced a larger deficit was in 2020 during the covid pandemic, when it hit 4.1 trillion rubles, or $55 billion at the time.

According to additional Finance Ministry figures published by Russian business newspaper RBC, Russia’s annual budget expenditure also shot up by nearly 26 percent in 2022, apparently driven by military costs...

...According to RBC, military spending is expected to jump in 2023, by nearly 5 trillion rubles, or $71 billion...

...Russian spending on security and law enforcement is expected to soar by nearly the same amount...

...The Russian government had reportedly sought to tackle its ballooning budget deficit last year by dipping into savings in Russia’s National Welfare Fund, as well as by levying windfall taxes on Gazprom, the state-controlled Russian energy company.

The new figures were unveiled Tuesday amid reports that Moscow is planning a “revenue mobilization” and may press Russian state companies and commodity producers for more money to fund the war efforts, including a proposal to impose “one-time” charges on fertilizer and coal producers.”

(https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2023/01/10/russia-budget-deficit-war-costs/?pwapi_token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJzdWJpZCI6IjMzNzgzMzQ0IiwicmVhc29uIjoiZ2lmdCIsIm5iZiI6MTY3Mzc4NjUwMCwiaXNzIjoic3Vic2NyaXB0aW9ucyIsImV4cCI6MTY3NDk5NjEwMCwiaWF0IjoxNjczNzg2NTAwLCJqdGkiOiI0YjBmZTAwOC0xYzI0LTRiYjMtODljNC02YTkxNDZhYWIyNGIiLCJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL3d3dy53YXNoaW5ndG9ucG9zdC5jb20vd29ybGQvMjAyMy8wMS8xMC9ydXNzaWEtYnVkZ2V0LWRlZmljaXQtd2FyLWNvc3RzLyJ9.-fb6wCAqgkSWDg8ys9EVExG5dm-hLsPcBL-xYSgtULE)

I have repeatedly mentioned that it is significant that Russia is on track to largely expend the old Soviet stockpiles of war materiel this year - but it is also quite possible that they will largely expend the National Wealth Fund as well, their version of the Social Security Trust Fund (which actually exists in their case).

Warm up the ruble printing presses for a wild ride!

Finland and Sweden enjoyed protected status, while their applications are being approved. They also contributed Militarily to the defense of the Ukraine in 2022, proportionally as members.

2023 will be far worse for the RuZZian economy and finances.

Ural oil was fetching $38 a barrel 1 week ago.

A second round of mobilization will take hundreds of thousands more RuZZians out of the workforce and then hundreds of thousands more RuZZians will head to foreign countries.

RuZZia’s economy and military is spiraling downward.

So the correct answer is none.

Want to bet the answer will still be none in 2023?

“Want to bet the answer will still be none in 2023?”

The Hungarian legislature is scheduled to vote this month. The EU has made billions of euros in financing contingent on Hungary ratifying NATO Membership for Finland and Sweden.

The US House of Representatives recently approved a big Fighter jet upgrade sale for Turkey, that have long been trying to get - but it is contingent on Turkey ratifying NATO Membership for Finland and Sweden.

“U.S. oil majors Exxon Mobil Corp and Chevron Corp—along with France’s TotalEnergies, are taking a long, hard look at upping their investments in India’s oil and gas exploration and production sector, India’s oil minister said in a Friday speech, carried by Reuters.” (https://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/Big-Oil-Is-Eyeing-India-For-Big-Investments.html)

Sounds like the payoff for India is in the works.

Starting to hear calls for a total ban on Russian energy exports, including secondary sanctions.

On February 5th, the EU will ban imports of refined oil products from Russia. That is the last of Europe’s steps to reduce Russian imports. After that, it must go after third party buyers, to keep tightening the noose on Russia.

That has been the plan all along, but the transition had to be managed, to avoid critical shortages. Next steps against other Russian energy customers are coming down the pipeline, and its going to keep getting uglier for Russia.

Putin did that to them - a total train wreck for the country.

"NATO expansion is non-negotiable."

And that is why Russia will be willing to kill the last fighting Ukrainian and any other Forever War nutjobs that follow. You people are nuts.

That is really a crappy picture. The shutter speed is way too low for the f-stop.

Other than that, it is great to see that the mobiks enjoyed their last day on earth.

🤔🤔🤔

Top U.S. lawmaker objects to potential F-16 sale to Turkey

WASHINGTON, Jan 13 (Reuters) - The Biden administration has told Congress it is preparing the potential $20 billion sale of F-16 fighter jets to Turkey, sources familiar with the matter said on Friday, sparking an immediate objection from a senior U.S. lawmaker who has long opposed the deal.

Curious what’s your point that America can be fools too!
American military did not lose Vietnam or Afghanistan, politicians did.
The same holds true for Russia and perhaps ultimately Ukraine
The service members I served with in Iraq and Afghanistan were some of and I might argue the best of the best, but as usual betrayed their sacrifices by fickle polititians
Ukraine will prevail if the politicians don’t get queasy, but Russia and the Russian culture of corruption, lies, and brutality are not matched even by our squishy politicians.
Regardless of the outcome Russia is now a shell of even what it was perceived to be. BTW all the nuclear weapons of the Soviet Union could not keep it together

RuZZian boy doesn’t understand how the military sale works.

Senator Bob Menendez gets 1 vote in the Senate. Would need 67 votes in Senate to reject sale. The 2/3 requirement has never been reached and won’t be reached this time either.

“Under US law, Congress can block a sale by passing a resolution of disapproval after a formal notification of a sale, but it is unlikely to do so if President Joe Biden decides to go ahead despite lawmakers’ objections.

While Congress has passed such resolutions in the past, it has never mustered the two-thirds majorities needed in both chambers to overcome a presidential veto. “
