Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine
Oryx ^ | Since February 24, 2022 and daily | ORYX

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it is not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

“US Considering Strykers for Ukraine: Report“

The US is considering sending Stryker armored combat vehicles to Ukraine, Politico reported, citing sources.

“Washington could announce the delivery as part of its next military aid package for Ukraine late next week.

The development comes after the Pentagon announced $3 billion in military aid for Ukraine, including 50 Bradley Fighting Vehicles, 100 M113 armored personnel carriers, and 55 mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicles.

“Ukrainians need armored personnel carriers and short of other countries providing it, is what we have in inventory,” a Pentagon official said.

“Not as good as a Bradley for a tank fight, but good to protect infantry and get up close to a fight.”“

-—> Ukraine Situation Report: US Strykers, Modern European Tanks On The Table For Kyiv <——
Discussions are underway in Britain and Poland to provide Ukraine with modern tanks, while the U.S. is mulling sending Kyiv Strykers.
https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/ukraine-situation-report-us-strykers-modern-european-tanks-on-the-table-for-kyiv

Excerpts:
The U.S. “is considering sending Stryker armored combat vehicles to Ukraine in an upcoming aid package to help Kyiv fend off an expected Russian spring offensive,” according to Politico, citing “two people familiar with the discussion.” The Strykers “may be part of the next tranche of military aid, according to a Defense Department official, who like others asked for anonymity to discuss internal deliberations ahead of an announcement,” according to Politico.

While the Stykers are being considered to help Ukraine in the spring, those vehicles were so ill-suited for Arctic conditions that U.S. soldiers in Alaska had little faith in their effectiveness and spent far more time repairing the wheeled vehicles than operating them in the field. The Strykers often freeze up in the extreme cold. Soldiers became so frustrated with the Stryker’s performance in Alaska that their replacement was seen as at least a partial salve to morale that had dipped very low. Of course, this wouldn’t matter in the spring and they are unlikely to arrive anytime before then, that is if they are offered to Ukraine.

“Although the occupiers have now concentrated their greatest efforts on Soledar, the result of this difficult and prolonged battle will be the liberation of our entire Donbas,” he said Monday on his Telegram channel. “And what did Russia want to win there? Everything is completely destroyed, there is almost no life left. And thousands of their people are lost: the whole land under Soledar is covered in the corpses of the invaders and in scars from the blows. This is what madness looks like.”

The Ukrainian Black Sea port city of Ochakiv in Mykolaiv Oblast has come under increasing fire, with dueling stories about what was hit there. Ukrainian officials say that 100 buildings were damaged and eight civilians injured. But the Russian Rybar Telegram channel said Monday that “missiles hit an ammunition depot of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, located on the territory of the former 7th coastal battery near the ship traffic control post...According to some reports, along with the ammunition depot, the radar station of the air defense complex was also destroyed.”

Things did not go well for the Russian soldier apparently using an “armored” vest made out of aluminum. It did not save him from a gunshot, according to @wartranslated.

-—> Su-57 Felon Fighters Are Flying Ukraine Combat Missions: UK Intel <——
The UK Ministry of Defense claims Russia’s Su-57 Felon fighter is being used against Ukraine, but it’s keeping its distance while doing so.
https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/su-57-felon-fighters-are-flying-ukraine-combat-missions-uk-intel

Excerpts:
The sources upon which the U.K. MOD’s evaluation is based are not disclosed, but the ministry states that the Su-57 has very likely been employed in combat “since at least June 2022.”...

“These missions have likely been limited to flying over Russian territory, launching long-range air-to-surface or air-to-air missiles into Ukraine,” today’s U.K. MOD assessment continues. This would go a long way to explaining why there is currently no open-source confirmation of Su-57s operating over Ukraine itself ...

On its Twitter channel, the U.K. MOD also provides an example of a “commercially available” satellite image, dated December 25, showing five Felons at the Russian airbase at Akhtubinsk, near Astrakhan, in southern Russia. The accompanying information notes that the base is home to the 929th Flight Test Center and that “this is the only known Felon base,” meaning that “these aircraft have likely been involved in operations against Ukraine.”

“This is symptomatic of Russia’s continued risk-averse approach to employing its air force in the war,” the account concludes. Ukrainian Air Force MiG-29 pilot “Juice” recounted: “You know you need just two or four Su-30s or Su-35s against [the Ukrainians’ MiG-29s and Su-27s], but 12? Sometimes there are even more, sometimes we saw around 24 jets in the air near the border, trying to shoot our jets.”

In the case of the Felon, the 124-mile-range R-37M (AA-13 Axehead) air-to-air missile is of particular relevance for standoff scenarios. This is a weapon that one pilot describes as “fucking dangerous” and which apparently first began to appear in combat last summer. A compressed-carriage version is also being developed for the SU-57, although its status is unclear. However, even the R-77-1 (AA-12 Adder), with its range of 68 miles, would be capable of engaging Ukrainian aircraft ‘over the border’ in some scenarios. Meanwhile, the K-77M that is also being developed for the Su-57 is reported to have double the range of the basic R-77; that would imply a range of up to 100 miles for the new weapon

••Day 320.

Today there are a lot of updates from Soledar.

The Wagner mercenaries that are responsible for storming Soledar received an order to storm the city nonstop.

After a series of major unsuccessful advances, the Russians immediately made another attack, which caught everyone by surprise because they launched in between three Ukrainian fire positions.

Such a risky move has already cost them an extremely high casualty rate because the attacks are so intense that the surrounding area is scattered with bodies, forcing them to walk around them or step over because no break is given to collect them.

Last time I told you that the Ukrainians conducted a counterattack in the southern part of the city and successfully pushed the Wagner forces from the Artyomsol tourist area.

After that, the front line stabilized in this region, and even though the fights in the vicinity are still taking place, no changes have been registered here.

I also told you that the Ukrainians conducted a counterattack in the eastern part of the city. Today the information regarding this attack was clarified, and it turned out that it happened in the northeastern part of the city.

In a series of Russian assaults along the perimeter of Soledar, the Russians managed to establish a toehold in the northern part of the residential area.

After that, they tried to move inside the city and cut the Ukrainians off from the northwest, but the latest updates suggest that as a result of the Ukrainian counterattack, the Russians were pushed back toward the outskirts.

While the Ukrainians concentrated their forces and attention to the north and south of the settlement, the Russians threw another attack fist right in the center.

Ukrainian Deputy Minister described the latest developments in Soledar and said that after an unsuccessful attempt to capture Soledar and retreat from the northern and southern areas, the enemy regrouped and launched a powerful assault.

Other officials said that the Wagner forces did not regroup and just deployed a large number of new assault groups formed from the best reserves of the Wagners. It is still unclear where exactly the Wagners managed to slip through.

As you remember, the Ukrainians have established their positions on the eastern outskirts. The area between these outskirts and the salt mines should also be closed because there is a lake and a dense tree area.

From the information available right now, it seems like the Russians have fixed Ukrainian troops to the north and east and slipped through the gardens.

It looks like the Ukrainians assumed that they had enough control over the region by controlling the tall buildings to the north and the countryside to the east, so this gap in between remained less protected. If this is indeed the case, then it was a huge mistake on the part of the Ukrainians.

The Wagners conducted an extremely risky move because they basically put themselves in a crossfire. The Wagners entered these small blocks, which are basically in between the tall residential area, salt mines, and the countryside. This move just shows how much risk the Wagners are forced to take.

It was said that the Wagners received an order to keep up the momentum of continuous assaults and advance at all costs, and with almost 40 thousand prisoners used as cannon fodder, they can clearly afford it.

Local footage indicates that there was simply no time to remove the bodies, so the Wagners are literally advancing over the corpses of their soldiers that were killed in the previous waves of assaults.

The Russians have heavily concentrated their artillery fire and airstrikes in this region, which allowed the Wagners to enter the city from the east.

Interestingly, some Ukrainian officials also reported that the Russians did not expect to enter the outskirts so quickly, so they suffered the fire from their own artillery.

Previously, we observed something similar in Opytne - the Wagners push incredibly intensely up until the breaking point. Then they suddenly stop, as their combat capability has been undermined.

Overall, Soledar has suddenly become the center of attention of both armies.

After the failed attempt to take Bakhmut in front, the Wagner forces got a chance to prove that they could take cities in Soledar. The Head of the Wagner forces, Prigozhin, is likely trying to capitalize on the tactical retreat from the eastern outskirts that the Ukrainians conducted a week ago.

The goals here are to use the momentum and psychological pressure to force the Ukrainians to retreat because, in this case, he can take the credit for every meter that they capture. That is why the Wagners received an order to storm the city nonstop, and that is why they are using extremely risky tactics.

If the Ukrainians manage to withstand these attacks and continue to conduct their counterattacks timely, the Wagners will burn their reserves and will have to decrease the intensity of their attacks very soon.

The trouble with these recon vehicles is they were not designed to be used in an artillery war of attrition.

too much fake news in this thread.
.It would be batter for saving uke lives to just cut off the Z globo homo so he will have to negotiate cease fire.
.
in real news from yesterday
the breakthrough in Soledar is real.
for those who want verification the link below has video of fighting near the Soledar admin building and city council building.
.
“Footage of street fighting in Soledar, filmed by the Ukrainian soldiers confirmed the claims. The following video was made near the houses on Karpinsky Street, close to the city administration building. The Ukrainian garrison in Soledar is tactically surrounded. After Wagner fighters took control of Yakovlevka located to the north of Soledar, they advanced in the fields and blockaded the town from the north. The defense is held by scattered detachments of the AFU formations, which are suffering heavy losses and and lack of military supplies. As a result of the lack of communication, their retreat is badly coordinated and leads to more deaths in Ukrainian ranks.” -video at link-

.
The more important breakthrough may be at pod-something(hey ukies , please buy some vowels) and storming at Krasna Gora..
The important part of this is that Russians have fire control over the supply roads from Bakmut to Soledar and Bakmut to Siversk...it’s covered in today’s update from Military Summary Channel

Here's a map that shows the location of Lantrativka.

The picture below shows the damaged building with a satellite image of the building. The inset on the upper right shows a UKR soldier...most likely Special Forces, well behind enemy lines.
