That's why they call it gambling. In the morning on our Sports Radio station, they air VSIN the Sport Betting Network that broadcasts from Las Vegas, weekly they have been following the Circa Survivor contest that started with 6,133 entrants at $1000/each. You pick one team each week to win straight up, once you pick a team you can't pick that team the rest of the year. Yesterday it came down to 3 people, the 3 people picked the Jaguars, Colts, and Seahawks, 2 picks won meaning they will divide up a $6.133-million-dollar payout versus 3 people dividing it.
Did they make all their picks at the beginning of the season or did the pick week by week?
Week by week
They pick week to week, if they have a number behind their name, it means the number of entries they made in the tournament, which 6 were the limit.
If a person entered twice in the tournament, the team names would be.
Team-Name-1, Team-Name-2, etc.
Of the final 3, 1 person lost 2 million on a hail mary pass and then a 2 point conversion. talk about a bad beat.
Then whoever picked the colts for Sunday really messed up and hasn’t followed them for the last month.
You don’t what his previous picks were and what teams were left for him to pick from.
I agree the Colts were not a great choice, but he might used any other great picks from Sunday in previous weeks of the season.
In the article it says he was good because he hedged the final week, the question is how much he hedged on that final game.
Knowing he could win between 2 and 6 million on the final pick, supposed he hedged $250,000 on the money line for the Texans.
The Texans were a +125 on the money line, if that was his number, he would have walked away with 312,500, granted it’s not 2-6 million but it’s something and he could have hedged even more.
Good point.
