We once had Newt Gingrich, but the Dems destroyed him with the assault on the book he wrote. His replacement? RINO Denny Hastert...

Actually, Gingrich's replacement was Bob Livingston of Louisiana. The Democrats then took out Livingston over an infidelity scandal.

Then we got Hastert, whom the Democrats kept.

“McCarthy is not MAGA...he’s can kiss my culo.”

Is there any more MAGA? Even Trump is now promoting the non-MAGA types like Ronna and McCarthy?

McCarthy is nothing positive for the party. Maybe he is for the Ronna Romney-run GOP. With McCarthy, it’s welcome to the new boss...the same as the old boss. He was against Cheny losing her leadership position, then changed his mind when he saw how much opposition there was against her. He’s a panderer. He was nixed for Speaker last time around because he was rumored to have had a 5-year affair with a Congresswoman who lost her seat, and recently lost her bid to win it back.

"So then who is there?"

Somebody who is pro-Trump when no one is looking. That ain't McCarthy.

"There isn’t a difference between McCarthy and Pelosi though."

You're right, because anytime Republicans have had a small majority in the House, they've chosen to share power with the Democrats.

The only way to judge a person’s character is by what that person has done in the past...and who he hangs out with.

“I believe that by choosing my good friend Paul Ryan as his running mate, Mitt Romney has once again shown why he possesses the leadership and vision to get this country back on the right path. Paul has dedicated his career to promoting ideas of economic growth and fiscal responsibility.”

know that you’re advocating for what’s always been done, telling the people to suck it up one more time because this time Kevin McCarthy will work for the people; this time will be different...

know that you’re advocating for what’s always been done, telling the people to suck it up one more time because this time “??????” will work for the people; this time will be different....this statement. This one, is EXACTLY why we’re in the position we’re in, as a country. Folks in SC thinking that Scott and Graham will actually do something.

Folks in Georgia voting for Kemp and Raffensberger because their primary opponents ran lousy campaigns. A gumball from a supermarket machine should have beaten those two. And the folks that voted for them voted for 4 more years of the disaster started by Deal and put into overdrive by Kemp, et al.

Voters everywhere, being lulled into ONLY having to vote for the GOP hand picked choice, not giving the other person a chance.

Voters wanting someone more aggressive and more Conservative, but most of the time, opting for the RINO Moderate, because sometimes the other guy isn’t so nice.

but since Dems vote too, it is going to be someone who The Dems aren’t scared of.

Pelosi will allow some Dem’s to vote for McCarthy to push him over 218, because....she isn’t afraid of him and he’ll owe her.

It’s what he’s said (I think he knows the reality) but it’s who Gaetz is pushing. And he’s been quiet about Matt promoting him.

We live in insane times so having an idiot speaker makes sense.

In reality, there will be tons of investigations that will result in nothing. They’ll pass bill after bill and nothing will get signed.

Basically, if they shutdown Congress for several years America would be better off

Its going to be McCarthy or Scalise. Only a RINO can get 218 votes. Sad but true.

“Posting a negative thread does nothing positive for the party”

Neither does doing the same thing over and over and putting in weaklings who talk the talk, but don’t walk the walk.

And second, I don’t give a da— about what is “positive for the party”. I am interested in what is positive for the country and conservatives, not a party that gives lip service to what its base wants.

I get a kick out of these posts where you know the author is lurking.

"That’s McCarthy all right. But hold on. Some of our conservative heroes/heroines support Kevin. Shouldn’t we trust their judgment?

Not this time. Steve Cortes, (who I adore), is acting like an abused wife or in this case husband. Yeah, Steve’s been hard on Kevin in the past, screamed to the rooftops that Kevin’s not fit to be Speaker. Yet he now says we’re better off with the devil we know. Kevin has changed, aligning with the people, shifting to the right. This is the bully telling his battered spouse the abuse will never happen again, they’ve changed."

Swing and a big miss, Miss Piggy. That was some outright dumb hyperbole. Sweet Kevin is Luntzberace's 'rent boy', and the word 'bully' has NEVER been associated with Kevin McCarthy.

"And Steve argues, who else could fill Kevin’s shoes? He says, “no credible alternative candidate exists.” Wrong. Jim Jordan would make a fabulous Speaker. He’s never bent over for the Democrats, fights for conservatives, and definitely has the experience. Oh, I know he says he doesn’t want the job but Jim’s enough of a patriot that I believe he’d step up if asked. Or others, there are several ‘credible candidates’, more credible than McCarthy."

Miss Piggy doesn't "know" that, if anything she knows Jordan has plainly said "NO"; but if she is even barely sentient -- oink oink -- she sounds just like a FReeptard who dementedly insisted SCOTUS clerks had leaked inside information on Brunson v Adams to right-wing press -- not just a lie, but a damnable lie. Here is Jordan explicitly rejecting the Speaker's gavel:

"Jordan, a leader in the House Freedom Caucus who is on course to become House Judiciary Committee chairman in the new Congress, has spoken highly of McCarthy’s leadership, saying he “has kept our team together.”

“I mean, what I’ve said all along is, the guy who gets you to the Super Bowl, even if it’s a game in overtime, gets to coach the game, in my judgment,” Jordan told Fox News shortly after Election Day."

You don’t believe Kevin...why would you believe someone else??

There is one person I would believe, which is why he will never have a chance: Chip Roy. The rest is all kabuki theater; whatever the House does that isn't establishment will be squashed in the Senate.

Having a Dem (or worse, Liz Cheney) as Speaker will mess up the committees, which is the only reason why we have to support whoever the GOP puts up.
