Chief Bryan said Lt. Carker was a leader and mentor who “served the citizens of Garland selflessly and with honor” throughout his nearly two decades of service.
“The men and women of the Garland Police Department are mourning the loss of Chris, as we try to comprehend and endure one of the most difficult chapters in our Department’s history,” the chief wrote.
Chief Bryan noted that the obstacles law enforcement officers face in their personal lives are often amplified by the “stress and pressure” that comes along with working as a first responder.
“Our men and women on the front lines are the people we turn to in times of crisis,” he wrote. “But they are also the last to seek help for themselves…”

What’s with all these cop suicide posts? Everybody is struggling these days
We don’t know that this was a suicide.
Just that his department says it was a suicide.
Since when does a PD determine cause of death?

Per the above, Lt. Canker was undergoing cancer treatment.
From the link, and thus is really interesting...
“...The Garland Police Department has since confirmed that Carker will be honored as “a work-related death to the service he performed as a Garland Police Officer and Lieutenant.”
Wonder if the department had a vaxx mandate.
That might explain a lot, even if this was indeed a suicude.
A just in case ping.
By chance, was he investigating the Clintons?
If you have spent any amount of time at emergency response scenes, some suicides are pretty obvious. I'll leave it at that.
