There’s a little important nugget in this article: in CA, the ABC, the Dept of Alcohol Beverage Control is dreaded by holders of beer, wine and liquor licenses. They’re like the IRS with a worse attitude. The Broward Center may not take a major blow if they get their license yanked and can’t serve alcohol at their events, but a lot of these atrocities are hosted by license holders. Pulling their licenses would go a long way to stopping this madness

Why and how would CA's ABC be pulling the license for a business in Florida?

Besides, even if they could, CA gov't would likely offer to sponsor the show, not pull the license!

I was only giving CA as an example. This particular incident was at a community center, but they probably hold a liquor license and probably make good money off it. Many of these events have happened at license holders. I know nothing of FL law, but under the CA Alcohol Control Act, a license can be yanked at facilities that are allowing any illegal activities. As the article says, this event may have been illegal in FL. If making license holders afraid is a way to curtail this activity, then that’s just great as far as I’m concerned
