Wife and I both got a bronchitis level cough. The family doctor tested us out in the parking lot and informed us we had covid. He phoned in a dose-pack of prednisone, a round of Keflex, and some coding cough medicine. Fastest most productive office visit I've had in 20 years. It did seem weird being checked out next to the trash dumpster though.
No vaccines. No note for work because he said we had already been sick for five days and it wouldn't do anyone any good.
I asked if I needed to tell my employer and he said "why would you do that?" Great doctor.
I'm 64, unvaxed with a few substantial co-morbs. I was sick with COVID (delta variant) for 2 days, and down another 2 days just sleeping. I took the VIT-D, Zinc w/Quercetin, the "horse dewormer", and got the antibody treatment within six hours of testing positive at home. I enjoyed the two days of rest more than I disliked the two days of feeling sick, so I guess COVID was a net plus for me. I had co-workers who were younger and healthier who were out of work for a month. And a very healthy friend of 35 years who got COVID and never made it out of the hospital. I believe it was the treatment that resulted in his death.
But, the real case study is my unvaxed, 84-year mother who has COPD so bad she can't walk across a room with her walker without stopping to catch her breath. And cardio problems as well. She got the same treatment as me and, after testing positive at home one week after I did, had nothing more than a modest headache for a few hours.
Exactly one year later we're currently both enjoying our excellent natural immunity.
Anybody need some "horse dewormer"?? (Actually, I think I'll hang onto that for it's anti-inflammatory properties.)
