Jan 6 was a ‘mostly peaceful protest’ with those orchestrated by the FBI escalating the event. Then it was a mostly peaceful occupation.
Compare it to, say, the average BLM/Antifa event. No paintings destroyed, fires set, and the only shooting victim was a protestor murdered by the response.
Trump offered to have troops there and Nancy refused - later to keep them housed for days in a parking garage after Xiden had been installed. Trump told everyone to go home peacefully.
Smoke and mirrors. A real insurrection would be armed and there’d be tens of thousands dead. None of that happened.
I believe a few windows were broken... I see a broken glass theme developing...
We will know the new GOP HoR is ‘on it’ if they call Pelosi to explain her actions around 1/6... not accepting the help of the NG for instance. I’m not holding my breath...

I do not see January 6th riot as anything like Fort Sumter. But, the divisions caused by such things may well cause a fort Sumter moment next year.

Pelosi colluded with the FBI to create an event that they then could take advantage of. Never let a crisis go to waste, and if you don’t have one handy, then create one.
We need to make those ceilings out of bullet proof glass in the future..
The war of northern aggression was not an attack on democracy. It was an attempt by several states to secede from the Union. That is pretty much democracy right there. I am so sick of hearing these people talk about the dangers to “our democracy” I hope it does fail dramatically. Then we can get back to being a republic.
