BERLINFREEPER never did get back to me about how many trees would be left in German forests after a couple of cold gasless winters; you know the Bayerischer Wald, the Eifel, the Schwarzwald, the Harz, etc.

If you have no gas or fuel oil you burn wood to stay warm, at least I do.

The wood-burning “renewable” energy plants get their wood chips largely from imports, from Finland, the Baltics, and even the US. Logging in Germany is, as I understand it, highly regulated.

Yes, its another absurd aspect of the “green”, but there you go.
