Imagine the humble honor Joseph must’ve felt knowing he had been chosen to raise God’s son. Jesus was basically given to Joseph, though he should have no natural affinity for him. That’s a lot of trust.

Yes indeed. And from what we have of Joseph in Matthew he was a very honorable and God-fearing man. He didn't want to subject Mary to the possible OT punishment for adultery which would have been stoning.

He was obedient in that he did everything God told him to do including taking the family to Egypt to protect them from Herod.

Hard to imagine Jesus having a better earthly mom and dad.
