If the company that created and sold the NFTs (for profit) used copyrighted images without obtaining a license, there will be litigation. At this point, it's not clear if they acquired the images legally, or what Trump's level of participation is. All we know is that Trump "licensed his image" to the NFT producer. That might be the limit of his participation and liability. Still cringe worthy. If Trump's people created the images, then it's a legal problem.

Actually, Trump made that decision for us. His trading card roll-out completely overshadowed his later major policy announcement.
And I’ve got to tell you this. Trump is a smart guy. So I’m genuinely baffled as to why he decided to schedule things the way he did.

Good retort. This trading card thing was a dumb move, period. Yet some folks are trying to put lipstick on that pig. They are coming up with all sorts of reasons why this was really a master stroke by Trump.
