Do you know how much energy is used to make toilet paper at 4,000 meters per minute on a steam fired Yankee dryer 10 meters wide? That's after the two gas fired thru air dryers partially dry the sheet. One paper machine making bath tissue uses just as much natural gas as the entire downtown district of Memphis TN.

Toilet paper and paper towels are the most ridiculous energy hog processes in manufacturing history. So much steam and heat goes out the stacks that ot creates its own rain and snow weather system in the surrounding 5 mile radius.

Use Scott's 1000 sheet single ply and go back to using rags and dish towels instead of paper towels, full of wet strength resins, creping adhesive, carboxy methyl cellulose, release agent chemicals, poly vinyl alcohol, and then people wrap their food with it.....

I do use reusable towels and microfiber cloths. I use paper towels fairly sparingly.
I also use scott’s toilet paper. We have a septic system that is rather ancient.

You are correct. Those mills use a lot of natural gas.
Plus their internal costs are going up.

Ripple effect of this admin’s extensive spending and fouling up the oil and gas industry.
