The federal judiciary doesn't have a mandatory retirement age. The federal bench has many "Senior Judges" who order strange things. This, however, is political. Lawyers normally shouldn't be tasked with searching a client's files or possessions for things.

Following law school graduation, stooge Beryl Howell clerked for Judge Dickinson Richards Debevoise in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey from 1983 to 1984. "judge" Dickinson Debevoise handed down the 1982 Consent Decree with the Republican Party, preventing them from stopping Big City vote fraud for 40-odd years, till Debevoise tipped over in 2015.
Beryl Howell was clerking for him at the same time, so you KNOW that she's a longtime and bigtime Democrat Party stooge.

Sounds like an FBI setup. Get the lawyers to pledge they searched such-and-such location, then theFBI plants a classified document and charges the lawyers with perjury.
