My wife and I are 68. I’ve discussed spending with a lot of my “elderly” friends. And one thing that is constantly mentioned is how little stuff we boomers buy. We just don’t need all the trappings like we did when we were younger.
Even food. We raise our own chickens and don’t eat as “high” as we did when we were young. It’s not that important any more.
It’s those spending lots of money on “stuff” that fuel inflation. And it ain’t the boomers.

I think what they are saying is that the Boomers refuse to join the workforce and that is driving up wages and costs. Still stupid of course.
