I believe that is mostly true.
I would expect the actual generators would be in hardened facilities. They would be spaced out and enclosed in a concrete structure that would then take multiple missiles to destroy one generator.
I have not read or seen any articles indicating attacks on generators.
The weak links in the electric infrastructure are electric substations. One missile could damage multiple transformers. A cruise missile with a dummy warhead could be effective against an electric substation.
My hope is the repaired substations are being enclosed and spaced out in hardened facilities.
If that is done, then the only electric targets would be power lines.
Easy and quick to repair.
Its the transformers that cannot be readily replaced - without which generators do nothing but spin, generating electricity to no where.
Most transformers are custom built and take years to replace due to limited manufacturing and long lead time. Some one will have to ship boat loads of them to Ukraine. But the Orcs will just repeat the cycle - using Iranian missiles if they have to.
It will be interesting to see the direction that construction takes when Ukraine rebuilds, what will be hardened and how it will be situated, bomb shelters in new housing etc.
