Very profound analysis...well stated. I agree completely.
...they are apparently also attempting to generate a new attack force using about 2/3rds of those recently mobilized to reconstitute old units.
Success at reconstituting old units is dependent on training key personnel. Coordination among key personnel, during combat, and without compromising OPSEC and COMSEC, is key.
That would likely be about as many people as the initial invasion force, but of dramatically lower quality, with significantly less Air or Artillery support.
Don't forget Armor (Tanks) support and Air Defense (SAMS & AAA) support. These will also be significantly less than at the start of the war.
Perhaps Russia will mass a bunch of Iranian, North Korean or Chinese missiles and Artillery to reinforce that push.
If the promised NASAMs, HAWKs, Brimstone 2, HIMARs, and other high tech weapons are delivered on time, then UKR will survive and the Russian invaders are going to be rolled back.
Remember this "Blast from the Past"?
Send more artillery!
Reverse slope targeting is huge!
It’s his job; and he’s good at it.
Thanks for taking the time to gather and post the information.
“transportation which is why Russia is acquiring its own fleet of oil tankers”
The transportation issue is going to get a lot more interesting next week (starting 5 December), when the European import ban and price caps go into effect.
We’ll have to keep an eye on how it shakes out. Oil revenue is a real center of gravity for Russia.
Send more artillery!
Amen!
It is going to be needed when the Z(ombie) mobnik horde is launched. Got to get ready for the numbers we already know are coming, and the more that might be mobilized in the next wave as well. That is going to call for heavy and sustained fire - the most of the war.
Several weeks ago, I watched a show on American Heroes Channel (AHC) about the attack on Okinawa during WWII. A USMC company was trying to take a hill where the Japanese soldiers had established a reverse slope defense. Every time the Marines attacked, they were met with heavy machine gun fire.
A mortar gunner figured it out and laid down a rapid firing of about 32 mortar rounds in a 100 x 100 box. The next time the Marines attacked, no machine gun fire & no resistance. When they looked over the ridge, all Japanese soldiers were dead.
Reverse slope targeting is huge!
You are welcome!
