The coach wears shirts without the “United” attached to States. Typical left coast liberal. Our national soccer teams are jokes, get back to playing soccer instead of politics.

If you watch any of the other matches, no coach is wearing anything promoting their country. Many of the other coaches are not even citizens of the country they are coaching, especially the African Countries.

The next game he wore a shirt saying “States United”. More signaling.

I didn't make much of that. I'm seeing that in college football too. It's more of a brevity thing than a statement. For example, Mississippi State fans are wearing shirts saying just "State" -- the context being you're not for that other Mississippi team.

Besides, even if the USMNT coach meant it like you say, I'm cool with a states' rights message. LOL
