That was my impression of the transcript. The women sounded just like any women who have their sons or husbands in danger and those who are widows are just as sad.

I just don’t see anything in the transcript that sounds anything different than it might anywhere.

Well the media will always paint Putin in a bad light especially in this time of conflict. Plus the politics of the International community always in the mode of restraining Putin and Russia. We see this happening with China as the next ‘enemy’.

But yes, this was just a President meeting with soldiers mothers. No different than when rump visited troops during conflicts. There's always some degree of ‘staged’ and needful for any leader considering safety measures.
