Dallas Jenkins repeatedly says The Chosen IS NOT a substitute for the Bible at all.
He stresses that people need to open their Bible and read the Biblical accounts.
The Chosen is instead trying to show things that MAY have happened, but will NEVER contradict the Bible.
In reality the series has gotten many people off the sidelines to open their Bibles and read Biblical accounts of what is portrayed.
Awesome ! I was privileged to attend the screening held last night at the Museum of the Bible in Washington DC
I still plan to see it in the theater this weekend with family and friends and of course popcorn !
Might I suggest to all reading this that at the end of the show clean up any mess you made and thank the staff at the theater for their hospitality!

We are going Monday night with a millennial aged daughter .
She has been away from the Lord.
But she started watching The Chosen with us and has had tears in her eyes at some of the scenes.
Yes it’s an amazing thing that is happening .
I 100% expected to see opposition to it.
Humans have layered on so many traditions and customs onto the message of Jesus.
The Chosen strips a lot of that away and will naturally cause some discomfort.

“Free to all” is a good point. After the theatre run “The Chosen” season 3 episodes will be free to anyone wanting to watch them. They will be streamed free through “The Chosen App.” It also says it’s an Angel Original on the app when it’s been downloaded.

Just saw it yesterday. The apostles going out to preach and their fear and uncertainty are very well done. Makes me want to read my Bible and that’s a good thing. We loved it!
I partially agree. Didn’t see Season 2 but I felt the Sermon on the Mount had a more commercial feel than it should have. I strongly suspect it was a sermon Jesus repeated, in whole and in parts, many times. I’m sure he PRAYED about it, but I don’t believe he studied for it.
Still, I think it is an honest attempt to portray what happens in the scripture. Lots of stuff gets added or you wouldn’t have a series, but (unlike Rings of Power) they are trying to stay true to the source material.
Even if I disagree with what someone says in a sermon, the disagreement itself makes me think more deeply about the issue. In that sense I really like The Chosen. I hope it motivates people to reread and actually THINK about the Gospels. I honestly think the average sermon misses the point by a larger margin then this TV series does. The Jesus of the Gospels is NOT the simpering self-help guru too many modern preachers pretend!

I like your take on this show. If it prompts people to read the original source material, the Bible, that’s a very good thing. If it prompts people to worship Jonathan Roumie, that’s not a good thing.
All those religioNS don’t believe Jesus is Almighty God and knows everything. The chosen thinks that Jesus has to study, that is really bad. Jesus is omnipotent. The creator of all things. Jesus is not happy about that way of thinking. Every knee shall bow every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. We can’t ever take any credit for our salvation’ it all because of his sacrifice on the cross. In Revelations it says if you add or subtract anything from these books of the Bible “paraphrasing” it is really bad.

So looking forward to posting some specific questions for discussion that came up in Season 3. But the questions might be considered “spoilers” for those who plan to see it in the theater this weekend
So I will just start with how much of episode 1 & 2 of season 3 would be considered “Artistic Liberty/License” and not actually recorded in scripture?
