I smell a rat myself. I think the plan was and still is to get a permanent codified abortion law. The timing of the court decision (Roberts, somehow), the leak, all of it just before an assumed blowout election? We haven’t seen the full results yet. Assume they get it close enough to steal again, the radical abortion bill will be codified, guaranteed. A soon to be left Supreme Court would rubber stamp it and there you go. 50/50, they pull it now. If not, ‘24 or ‘26.
