If the author is correct, that repubs sat out and did not vote, they deserve everything coming their way in the next couple of years, starting with their new law, passed in the middle of the nite by the legislature, called the safety act or some such nonsense. That bill is a criminals dream. No longer can police remove trespassers, jail thugs or do any number of other law enforcement. The citizens are going to be sitting ducks.
