I believe that if they both run , President Trump should act as kind, friendly, brotherly , and NON aggressive as possible . Show a new, kinder side. Laud DeSantis for all the great things he has accomplished. Especially his hreatcoordinated response to hurricane Ian. Trump should point out that HE has the real juice for leadership of the U.S. in the wider world . That HE has juice to deal with the likes of Putin , Xi, Kim, and the maniacs in Iran. Trump should invite DeSantis to be a close sort of his team , if he is elected . Or better yet plea that he remain the good,solid anchor leadership of very important Florida . Saying “ No one else can lead FLA as DeSantis can he should absolutely stay away from aggressive mud slinging negative politics. President Trump needs a new model ( for himself)

I completely agree with your post, that Trump finally being gracious and magnanimous would likely lead to his biggest following ever. At this point, he may need to consider that just to stop the bleeding.
However, Newsmax just had a short interview with Eric Bolling, who was reportedly taking a quick break in the middle of an interview with Trump, to be released in the next couple of days, where that didn’t sound like how it would play out, were the contest to ever actually happen.
Bolling said he had just finished asking Trump about DeSantis, and paraphrasing here, Trump said he likes DeSantis just fine, and he has been a good Governor, but if DeSantis decides to enter the Presidential election against Trump, Trump will be just as aggressive against DeSantis as he has been against others in the past, because he believes that’s what you are supposed to do in a primary.
Basically no gloves, no quarter. Straight from the man himself. We’ll see if it works as well as it did against the relative clowns he faced in 2016, none of which had the support DeSantis currently has.
That’s a pleasant fiction. Trump has never shown an inclination, not one iota for such “kind, friendly, brotherly, and NON agressive” behavior/demeanor. Not gonna happen. Referring to Ron as “Desanctimonious” was so small-minded, so low...so Trump.
