I just wanted to say... I just drove by a family owned restaurant where I and some old friends used to go every Friday night to eat. When COVID hit, we kept going until the paranoia level got too much (my friends were all teachers from high school, now in their early 80s). We stopped going in the spring of 2020. I think a lot of other people stopped going too.
I just happened to drive past it for the first time in maybe a year.
Big "CLOSED" sign across the door. Completely dark. Windows dirty.
It would have been a bit more precise if the sign had read "DESTROYED."
