No new accurate information here but now that you’ve brought up the subject. The answer has always been, “It depends”. The actual number of nerve endings can vary in the same individual from nearly minute to minute ranging in number from absolute ZERO to something like a googleplex or more. The common age of maximum count is between 16 and 28 or marriage, whichever comes first.

In terms of just how cold it can become, absolute ZERO is not low enough to measure the magnitude. Deep space can be toasty warm by comparison.

Ovulation has been observed to swell the count to preposterous numbers with startling and earth shaking results. There are other unexplained events, even undiscovered ones, that can produce the same result. There is no certainty or reliability that the same positive count producing stimulus can ever be repeated. The desirable and keenly anticipated response is completely random and frustratingly elusive leaving many to abandon the project to pursue greener pastures or more fertile fields.

The situation really is a mistery, wrapped in an enigma more complex than Russia and harder to penetrate than the iron curtain. 😕
