Yes. I remember reading her dissertation, which was published as The Beauty Myth in September of 1990. It was pretty left wing. Then she worked as a consultant for Al Gore. But somewhere along the way, it's clear she started looking about her. Her writing style, however, has not changed. She's still a bit melodramatic. But I see her point.
