WOW! I can only conclude things were very different in Blue states. Here in NC we had a mask mandate which, once you got outside of Charlotte (and probably the Triangle and Asheville) nobody bothered with. None of the other Southern states had even that.

After a very brief couple weeks of lockdown, life pretty much returned to normal. I couldn’t continue to live in an oppressive state like the one she described.

That is an excellent point. I am in the ATL area. I still look at stories like this and just shake my head at the insanity. While there were people around that nasty who had bought into the Covid narrative, they weren’t making public policy. At worst, there were events that you couldn’t attend without a vax, or without a recent test.

When I see stuff that extreme, it’s like another world from the one I spent 2020 and 2021 in.

The cities were pretty strict with their mask crap for a few weeks. I know when they RE-imposed ours here, it was largely ignored.

But there were and still are hardcore disciples. I find it sad...

No...no one gets a pass. I never believed in mass hysteria but i damn sure do now.

Frankly, I’m surprised that Naomi and family haven’t relocated to a free state already. She quit being a Democrat about a year ago, IIRC. Baby steps.

IMO it depended largely on whether your state had a Rat Governor or a Trump-hating RINO Governor.Massachusetts had,and still has,a RINO Governor who's never hidden his white-hot hatred of Trump. He shut this state down in a way that would make the East German Politburo envious.Nobody could go to work...nobody could go to school...nobody could go the church...nobody could go to a restaurant...and nobody could go to a shooting range (an order that was overturned by a Federal judge on 2nd Amendment grounds).

In January 2020 the state's official unemployment rate was 2.8%

In July 2020 it was 11.8%

NY state was extreme; people were required to wear masks outdoors. NJ had many of the same policies (but not that one), yet away from the northeast they seemed routinely ignored. At a flea market in central Jersey, I was impressed how few masks there were - despite people being jammed together.

My family lives in Bucks & Montgomery Counties outside of Philadelphia. We are famous for 2 things: a fanatical COVID pandemic lockdown, and massive mail-in ballot fraud.

We are trapped behind enemy lines. But my day-to-day observation is that conservatives are in the majority around here. We are held hostage by the local & state government and public institutions like the school systems.

My wife is retired. I’m still working because I’m not the retiring-type. But I am re-considering. And if that happens, we will likely move to a ‘Red’ state where the BS-levels are much lower.

Where I live, there was some of the mask foolishness at retail outlets for a brief period of time. iI complied only if I was forced to. Some folks are still stupidly complying apparently, as I occasionally see a mask here & there. I mostly don’t consider what as done as any great affront to me as they were complying with orders from above, or so it was thought. What I DO still strongly dislike is this foolishness still being followed at our local hospitals & related services. What do they think they are accomplishing, other than making people disgusted? I really feel offended only by those are passing down these orders, not by everyone who has to wear a mask. Wish those who give these orders would wake up to some facts. By the way, I live in a red state & am certainly glad of that.
