Russia unleashed the third mass cruise missile attack on Ukrainian energy infrastructure, during this Monday morning rush hour (7-9 AM in Kyiv), a developing pattern to the strikes.
50 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles were reportedly launched mostly from Tu-95/Tu-160 strategic bombers operating from the north of the Caspian Sea and Rostov region.
44 were reported to have been interdicted by Air Defense. Additional waves of drone attacks produced a total of 18 strikes across ten regions of the Ukraine, mostly targeting civilian electrical and water supply. About 80% of Kiev residents have had their water supply disrupted. Also struck were energy infrastructure in Chernivtsi, Kirovohrad oblasts, and Zaporizhzhia City. Targeting such civilian infrastructure is a war crime under the Geneva and Hague Conventions, to which Russia is a signatory.
