The Daily Mail is, has long been, a staple of FR posts on all sorts of subjects. Its the UK equivalent of the NY Post.

Among other things it carried the Hunter Biden laptop stories reliably throughout 2020.

Now it seems some people think its worthless trash because it disagrees with them re Ukraine. Some of those shameless people, however, continue to use it as a source when posting on other matters.

The problem here, in your case, and many others, is an emotional reaction, due to being invested in a narrative. It leads to irrationality and inconsistency.

The problem here, in your case, is emotionally trusting *any* mainstream media source these days. And especially British tabloids. Have you *seen* the printed version? It looks like the National Enquirer. It’s one of the tabloids my sister and I would buy before getting on a train in England so we could read it and laugh together on the journey. Yes. Our “emotional reaction” was laughter.

Trusting those sources leads to sensationalist irrationality.

Most people want objectivity from the media. Not for newspapers to just become rubber stamps for any side in a war.
