We have local food (and wine) in abundance and grow some of our food as well. Best “better location” move ever.
There is simply no substitute for a CA garden in zone 9b. I grow fresh food year round.

When I was a young lad many decades ago our Breakfast consisted of: Buckwheat Pancakes, Fried Potatoes, Fried Eggs, Salt Pork and Toast. This was all grown on our Farm.
