Ukraine said it had reclaimed five more settlements in the key southern region of Kherson as Kyiv continues its counteroffensive drive in the face of mass Russian missile strikes.
“Ukrainian armed forces have liberated five more settlements in Beryslav district (of Kherson region): Novovasylivka, Novogrygorivka, Nova Kamyanka, Tryfonivka, Chervone,” the presidency said in its daily report.
It comes as Ukrainian forces repelled Russian attacks along the front line, its defence ministry has said.
In a statement, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said Russian offensives had been extinguished in Mykolaivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Mayorsk, Pervomaiske and Krasnohorivka.
The victories for Ukraine have also come at a cost for the Russians - in the form of medics.
