That was the main reason we never considered nuking Germany during WWII, was the fear the radiation would spread all across Europe.

The atomic bomb was NOT ready on May 8, 1945. That’s when Nazi Germany surrendered.

It had nothing to do with weather becuase it didn’t exist.

Some of the scientists thought it might destroy the whole Earth in an enormous chain reaction, right up to the first actual test at the Trinity site in New Mexico, July 16, 1945.

We didn’t have a workable bomb until July 1945....Nazi Germany vass kaput in May...so I doubt they thought too much about fallout war strtegies and Germany...the smart scientista maybe but it was all theoretical until July 1945. They would have considered using it had Germany remained a credible threat. The Russians might not have been so happy about fallout coming into Russia...Patton would have been ecstatic!
