The world’s richest man just shattered the internet again by reportedly agreeing to proceed with his $44 billion acquisition deal for Twitter.
Bloomberg News reported that Tesla CEO Elon Musk is now “proposing to buy Twitter Inc. for the original offer price of $54.20 a share.” The outlet continued: “Musk made the proposal in a letter to Twitter, according to the people who asked not to be identified discussing confidential information.” Twitter shares reportedly “climbed as much as 18% on the news, after trading was briefly halted.”
MRC President Brent Bozell responded to the news on Twitter: “I can see why Elon Musk would turn his back on the lying leftists at Twitter, but for the sake of free speech I hope this deal still happens.”

That’s one way to get rid of bots... charge for the service.
and just before the election cycle. Great timing for free speech
He’s a Deep State front man who has made more than enough money anyway.
Hope he’s not getting a subsidy from the Biden admin to go through with this. It’s bad enough the EV transformation requires a tax subsidy to make it profitable.
He was in a super strong position for negotiating a discount. This full-price offer makes no sense.
Starlink + Twitter = a global communication system not controlled by any governments. Theoretically, if he launched a server platform satellites to host it, it would be out of reach of most attempts to shut it down or deplatform it.
That’s a very monetizable service.
Just because it’s going forward doesn’t mean it will happen - nor does it mean that $44 billion will be the final price.
No doubt there are conditions and stipulations. No one hands over $44 billion to buy something “as is” with no recourse if the seller misrepresented something.
Exactly
It would appear that ELON MUSK is buying TWITTER after all.
I understand they’re purging the bots trying to clear the traces of political manipulations. An enterprising Elon Musk will be able to retrieve the security and application logs to trace the activity if he cares. Either way, it’s all his now!
