The European Union is preparing the eighth round of sanctions against Russia as Moscow escalated its war in Ukraine by holding illegal referendums in four Ukrainian regions...

On Thursday, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen presented the Commission’s proposals for the eighth package of sanctions in response to Russia’s escalation of the war in Ukraine.

“Today, in this package, here, we are laying the legal basis for this oil price cap,” von der Leyen said, commenting on the G7-led idea of banning Russian crude oil from imports by sea unless the oil is sold at or below a certain price the buyers expect to set.

The eighth package is planned to include further restrictions on trade with Russia.

A sanctions package would need unanimous approval by all 27 EU member states, but Hungary has said it would block new energy sanctions against Russia.

🤔. And the “yoops” (euroPEONS) will be okay without Russian fuel if there is a nasty harsh winter? This entire mess is out of hand.

How can they cap the price of Russian oil if they are not buying it?

The current sanctions are a joke.

The new ones will be, too.

But the joke’s on the American taxpayer.

At some point when are sanctions just a talking point accomplishing nothing because if you were really serious why not issue sanctions that cut off everything against the country you are sanctioning

“How can they cap the price of Russian oil if they are not buying it?”

Good question. This is something new that they are trying. Sort of a mix of a buyers cartel and secondary sanctions on other buyers. We’ll have to see the details when it comes out.

It was planned for December 5th, but now seems likely to be sped up, because of Russia’s escalation.

It's another "game changer"!

The ruble in the top performing currency of the year. Inflation has decreased over the last six months in Russia and Russia has cut interest rates. Russia is running a larger surplus to it Treasury than last year despite spending a considerable amount of money fighting the war.

You and your neocon buddies are pissing in the wind and getting wet.

The long, hard winter is what is about hit Europe without Russian gas. The sanction war and sabotage of Nord stream pipelines has screwed Europe over. And, it's only a matter of time when the masses in those countries put the blame on us, where it belongs.

It is just another example of epic failure by the Biden regime that morons like you are determined to make conservative complicit in.

“EU Plans More Sanctions Against Russia”

Let me guess, they’re going to BLOW UP Nordstream so that no Russian gas gets to Europe!

Oh, never mind, the US did it already.

“How can they cap the price of Russian oil if they are not buying it?”

Easy, they can tell their Third World colonies to limit what they’ll pay.

Wait, sorry, they are FORMER colonies, and they no longer have to listen to the Decaying West anymore. They’ll likely start doing what is in THEIR INTEREST, which includes protecting their kids from gay recruiting (sorry Ukraine supporters, but that is what most of the Third World wants).

Lol. I’m gonna put a price cap on new F150 pick ups. I will not pay a penny more than 20,000 for a king ranch model. I wonder how long it’ll take Ford to deliver. Idiot EU thinks the buyer sets the price for a fungible product with worldwide demand.

You'd think that they'd eventually drop...

Sanctions? Hah. They don’t want to shed any blood over Ukraine.

Well, we sure don’t. That is the job for the EU.

I've burst out laughing today so many times today that I've lost count.

The neoconneds have got into the whiskey barrel with the Narrative War "victory" at Krasny Lyman, and are posting wild-eyed pony squeeze.
