Germany and the EU assumed that once the Ukraine war was settled, the gas would flow and the economies would jump start. Now that the gas pipelines have been destroyed probably by Biden and his merry band of green lunatics, that will not happen anytime soon. Germany and the EU will face a long, cold, dark economic depression. It will have immensely disruptive global social and political consequences.

Honestly it doesn’t make sense for anyone to have done this.
Someone thinks they are playing 7D chess I suppose.
Pipelines can be fixed, and there is plenty of demand for all the production .
It would be really stupid for either the US or Russia to have done it.
Unless some genius on our side wanted to “send a message”. But that’s really foolish.
