First mistake, asking any employee about the sign.
Second mistake, letting them know you have a gun. If you can’t properly carry a pistol concealed then you probably shouldn’t be carrying one anyway.

I’ve had a conceal carry permit for over 15 years. I’ve almost always respected the right of a business to say no to firearms. Up until my last renewal I’ve always attended the classes required for a renewal and felt it was necessary to make sure I was up to any changes in the laws. Since conceal carry requirements were relaxed to almost nothing I believe many who are now carrying shouldn’t be.
