Actually this story is a great ad for Tesla & the Tesla Service Center. The employee (former employee?) and by extension the Tesla Service Center was responsible for “totaling” the car. Tesla stepped up with a replacement without much m ore than a phone call, according to the story.
I would be willing to bet golf tees against tennis balls that Ford, GM or Chrysler or what the hell ever they are now would do the same without Jeff going to court.

You’d be exactly right, because neither Ford, nor GM, nor Chrysler own or operate the dealerships that service their vehicle. So anyone whose car got damaged by a Ford, GM, or Chrysler dealership is going to have to make a claim against the dealership’s insurance company, much the same way another driver would have to make a claim against YOUR insurance company if you damaged their vehicle by crashing into it.
