Yep. At the very least, we’re the suffragettes during the Woodrow Wilson administration, when women advocating for the right to vote were actually physically beaten by their opponents.
I think it is worse. It isn’t a “political party” or even an element of “a political party” that is visiting intimidation and violence on their political opponents.
It is the government doing the intimidation and violence, and they are using the organs of government to do so.
I see that as a very important distinction we need to keep in mind.
